My Life at The Village of Bedford Walk
Carrie Funk, current resident at The Village of Bedford Walk, loves to tell her story about how she found her new home and why she enjoys living in the community.
Funk had lived at a few different retirement communities when she saw The Village of Bedford Walk under construction. Every time she passed the community, the more interested she became. Once she was able to tour the model villas, Funk knew she had to live there. “They were beautiful, and the staff could not have been nicer or more friendly,” Funk said.
When her family came to visit, they were also very impressed with The Village of Bedford Walk, and Funk moved in soon after. Since then, she has been enjoying help from the move in specialist Karen Hayes, delicious and healthy meals and endless activities. “There are opportunities for a walking group, card games, movies, aquatic exercise and a happy hour every Wednesday. The best event came during the last week of July when we had Cruise Week. Each day we were in a different port and our dinner and activities represented that port.” The Cruise Week was so well received by the residents, that it is now an annual event.
Funk has even become a resident ambassador for The Village of Bedford Walk and speaks about her home and experiences to others looking for a retirement community. “I love living at The Village of Bedford Walk. The staff is incredible. I cannot think of anything about it that is not to like,” Funk said.
