Columbia has a well-kept secret. It is called the 50+ Program . The only qualifying character you must have is to be 50 years of age or older. Overseen by the Parks and Recreation Program, this 50 + offers a wide variety of recreational opportunities . The meetings are centrally located at the Hillcrest Community Center (HCC) 1907 Hillcrest Dr. Columbia, MO 65201. There is a $25.00 fee for an annual membership. This well-organized group puts out a monthly newsletter with events, time and places listed. If you wish to jump in and join, m mark your calendars for these upcoming 50+Explorer Trips: Tea luncheon at the Gathering Place – May 26 and Coffee and Conversation at The Village of Bedford Walk. Aside from these Columbia adventures the 50 + Program offers dancing, games, karaoke nights, potlucks and much more. For more information you can call them at 573-874-7475.
