A Launch Party

The atmosphere at the COMO Living Launch party in the lower level of The Village of Bedford Walk was one of excitement, warmth and activity. Striking black and white prints from COMO Living’s “Honoring Centenarians” feature adorned the walls of The Village of Bedford Walk’s Piano Lounge and Wisteria Dining Room. Guests munched and sipped on hors d’oeuvres and drinks provided by Room 38.

The party, which took place on Friday, January 27, drew members of the COMO Living staff, residents of the Village of Bedford Walk, and the friends and family of resident George Hoey, who was one of three individuals featured in COMO Living’s newest Arts and Culture issue. In the week leading up to the party, the community was buzzing about George’s mention in the magazine, and during the party residents and attendees enthusiastically flipped through the glossy pages of COMO Living to find the feature, titled, “A Fervor for Life.”

Towards the end of the event, the light tinkling of utensils upon glass could be heard and George stood up to give a speech. He was overcome with gratitude, and as he looked around the room, said, “I don’t know who to thank, because everyone was a part of this.” That didn’t stop him from sincerely thanking COMO Living, the staff at the Village of Bedford Walk, and his fellow residents and friends to whom he said, “You’re all just great.” His audience clearly felt the same way about him, as they enthusiastically applauded the man of the hour.
