Dr. Garth Russell’s Birthday Celebration
On Thursday, August 11, 2016 The Village of Bedford Walk celebrated one of its Founder Club members and an influential member of the Columbia community, Dr. Garth Russell. The birthday celebration hosted many of Dr. Russell’s distinguished guests and gave The Village of Bedford Walk the opportunity to show our appreciation for Dr. Russell and his continued support of our community. Through his service on our Steering Committee, he has made an essential impact to the success of our community. Yet, his kindest contribution to The Village of Bedford Walk was his decision to make it his home.
Dr. Russell is a founding partner of the Columbia Orthopedic Group and serves as a frequent national medical expert consultant in cases involving legal dispute. Dr. Russell attended the University of Arkansas in Monticello until joining the United States Army at the end of World War II. After his military service, he returned to college at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree. Dr. Russell remained in the state of Kansas for medical school and attended the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City, Kansas. Dr. Russell continued his training with an internship at Wesley Hospital in Wichita, Kansas and then moved to Columbia, Missouri where he completed his residencies in general surgery and orthopedics at the University of Missouri School of Medicine.
We are honored that Dr. Russell has chosen to make his home at The Village of Bedford Walk and we strive to provide him and his fellow residents a unique and vibrant community, offering abundant opportunities and a high level of service and hospitality.
